In a recent “Harvard Study Report” 70,000 people were surveyed about Optimism. Researchers found that 11-15% lived longer lives.  Along with the longevity it showed 50-70% better odds of living to the age of eighty-five.

From the study researchers indicated that Optimists shared several of the same traits:

[icon name=”glyphicon blicon-heart” size=”sm”] Optimists were better able to bounce back from stressful situations.
[icon name=”glyphicon blicon-heart” size=”sm”] Optimists perceived themselves as ‘living the good life’.
[icon name=”glyphicon blicon-heart” size=”sm”] Optimists had healthier habits, such as in diet and exercise.

Research from other sources shows the following positive outcomes:

[icon name=”glyphicon blicon-heart” size=”sm”] Optimists have better compliance to medications, especially young diabetics.
[icon name=”glyphicon blicon-heart” size=”sm”] In the workplace, Optimists have better production and efficiency.

CHILDHOOD HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Global Optimists are currently putting together programs to encourage and support Children with health issues, Children with mental health concerns, and Safety Prevention programs for young People.

This initiative is moving forward and being developed by members Pamela Batcho, Fatima Plater, and Lou Moss.
